Dr. Lyons was born and raised in Concord, California. He received his bachelor’s degree at Brigham Young University in 1998. Dr. Lyons grew up loving sports and people. His desire to make a difference in people’s lives was crystallized when he spent three months in the Amazon Rainforest working with a film crew in 1995. Here, he met a young woman named Poohan from the recently discovered Zoe Indian tribe. She had a massive swelling on the left side of her face. The tooth was abscessed and the skin was stretched thin across the spreading infection.

It was this encounter fused with his deep love for science that started him on his dental path. After seeing such a need to help others, he entered the University of Maryland dental school with the same fearless determination he had gained in the Amazon. In 2002, he graduated at the top of his class and was accepted into the renowned orthodontic program at New York University.

Dr. Lyons is specialty trained in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. He is a member of the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO).
Sports have also always played a significant role in Dr. Lyons’ life. As much as he enjoyed college basketball and football, nothing has captivated him more or been more rewarding than the adventures he’s experienced with his patients. He loves to create broad, beautiful smiles that are full and enhance the entire face. Nothing has excited him more than the magic of making smiles. To Dr. Lyons, it is not about changing teeth as much as it is about changing lives and building self-confidence.

But he is not alone. It has been said of his staff that they are the “greatest group of people to work with and be around.” They treat each individual patient like family and develop lifelong friendships with many of the patients. Due to their high passion, Dr. Lyons and the staff stay on the forefront of the latest orthodontic developments in order to achieve the highest quality treatment.

Dr. Lyons is married to Kamee Aliessa and they have five children.
